The information session hosted by
the San Dimas Library on December 3 rd was a great success!
So many people showed up that extra
chairs were needed for the power point presentation given by the
National Fibromyalgia Association. Of those who attended most were women,
about 75%, but there were some men too, including a doctor. All there that night learned new
things about fibromyalgia, and made new friends as well.
The power point presentation was very
helpful in explaining fibromyalgia for both lay and professional
attendees, the question and answer session that followed showed that
the National Fibromyalgia Association is an organization that is
dedicated and knowledgeable, with experienced staff who can be of
great assistance to those who need help-now.
At least 2 new local support groups are
now planning to be formed, and we look forward to more groups in the
future as the recognition and acceptance of this syndrome starts
reaching the greater population.
A big Thank You must go to Barbara
Nightingale of the San Dimas library for her interest in fibromyalgia
and concern for the health and wellbeing of the general public.
Barbara and staff provided refreshments and other equipment needed to
make this a great success and now has a series of books available
to check out. A more gracious hostess would be hard
to find. Thank you again Barbara! Another big thank you must also go to
Phyllis Talarico for her driving through such traffic to make it to
the library and for putting together so much information, a great
session!
Best of Health to All
Sincerely
Linda
